DPF / FAP REMOVAL / DELETION
Introduction:
Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is designed to remove diesel particulate matter (DPM) or soot, from the exhaust of diesel engines. Diesel particulate filters can remove roughly 85% of the soot found in most diesel emissions and can at times, depending on the filter and other equipment it is paired with will attain 100% soot removal.
These systems are now commonly found on Peugeot / Citroen HDI engines.
Now the systems are getting older more faults are appearing, common faults are the additive fluid running low or out, leaving the dpf filter blocked, most Peugeot or Citroen HDI's will go into 'Limp' mode till repaired, a common message on the display is 'unblock diesel filter' along with the engine management light.
Cost usually to replace the DPF / Top up the fluid reset management light can be around £500 upwards.
Solution:
We can remove the DPF settings from your standard ECU map, allowing no more DPF faults or Additive top-ups for a fraction of the cost.
What do you need to do??:
Firsty our method you need have a basic understanding of flashing your own ECU, If not this is not for you.
Basically you need a ECU remapping tool, Basic tools are found on ebay, with the likes of Galletto 1260, Kwp2000+ all doing the job, cost of these are around £30 to £80, and you need a stable laptop.
Be prepared to remove your DPF from your exhaust system or Drill holes in the FAP.
Read your standard map from car which has the DPF fault and save it on your laptop, the file is normally around 1MB if that.
